Let me introduce for you my first week at UKM.
At the start of my
first week in UKM, it was full of apprehension and depression but there were
also some great times and excitement. I felt anxiety and stress when I realized
that I need to separate from my family members and study at UKM which is quite
far apart from my home. Most of the time, I missed my family members, especially
my parents. I knew this is normal for everyone and there are a lot of people
have the same feeling.
After I took my
time to explore university life, I found that it is not horrible as I thought
before. During my freshers’ week, I met a diversity of people in UKM, they come
from different states, backgrounds, and ethnicities as well as countries. It
was a priceless experience for me. I also grab the opportunity to meet some new
friends here. Also, I had a meal and chit chatting with my friends at the café in
our hostel. I appreciate the time with them.
After that, I was also
always surprised by the facilities that are provided at UKM such as the library
called Perpustakaan Tun Sri Lanang (PTSL), a huge hall named Dewan Canselor Tun
Abdul Razak (DECTAR), and Health Center UKM, Pusat Kesihatan UKM (PKUKM) as
well as the faculty building that well-equipped with the facilities. Not only
that, the shutter bus that provided for all students to reach everywhere in UKM
without paying a ringgit is absolutely convenience. But, sometimes it was
annoying when the bus is crowded by people.
